Greetings
Brother Golfers! The 2011 Golf Season
will soon be upon us!
The LRIGL Executive Board has met
a couple of times thus far, both
graciously hosted by President Wayne
Caron in far-away West Alton. Topics
discussed included the 2011 schedule,
finances, sponsors for the upcoming
year and several other topics. The
Board is preparing and looking
forward to what should be an
enjoyable 2011 Season. Let's hope
Mother Nature melts all this snow
before mid-April at the latest.
Soon, all of last Season's Members
should be receiving your 2011
Membership Packages in the mail. This
Year's format mirrors that of last
year: i.e., Team Scramble, 16 weeks
of match play, plus playoffs,
President's Cup Night & Two Fun
Nights, on Thursday evenings at
Pheasant Ridge Golf Club. The annual
League dues fee will remain at
$75.00, the same as it was last year.
As you know, dues are used to offset
the cost of the mid-season
President's Cup cookout, the end of
the season banquet, the year end Team
Prizes, and the Weekly Prizes during
the season. As you will see in your
membership package, weekly Green Fees
and Motorized Cart Fees will remain
at last year's rates: $17.00 for
Greens and $9.00 Cart Fee per person
for nine
holes.
The Board is hopeful that most of
last season's members will be
returning. As you know, we had a
difficult time last year in trying to
maintain a full Team Roster and keep
a few players on the Wait List. We
know that at least a few of last
year’s members will not be
returning. So this year, in
order to hopefully avoid the
difficulties of last year, we are
starting early in asking everyone to
pro-actively seek new members.
As with the beginning of every
season, it is difficult to predict
how many new members we will need to
get a full Roster plus several Wait
List Players. Suffice it to say, the
Board would like every member to ask
around for anyone who has an interest
in playing in our League. Emphasize
to potential recruits that the
earlier you get your Membership
Application and Dues Check in, the
better you chances of being drafted
on a Team as the new member
applications are considered in the
sequential order that they are
received. If any new recruit pays and
then changes their mind, the Dues
Checks are fully refundable up until
completion of the Team Draft List
which occurs about a week before the
night of the Draft. The final number
of new openings will be determined at
the time of the Spring Kick-Off
Meeting. The Link below to the
Application pdf is currently enabled
so you may print as many as you deem
necessary. You can also make copies
of the Application you receive in the
mailing. Anyone interested in
applying for the 2011 Season may do
so at anytime, up to and including
the night of the Kick-Off Meeting.
Note that this year's General
Membership Spring Kick-Off Meeting
will be held on Thursday, March 31st,
2011 at 6:30 PM, sharp, in the main
hall at Pheasant Ridge Country Club.
The door opens at 6:00 PM. All
membership applications must be
submitted and paid for no later than
this March 31st date. We will discuss
the changes for the upcoming year and
other important information with
regard to the upcoming season. The
Board urges all members and member
recruits to attend the Spring
Kick-Off Meeting. This meeting is for
your benefit.
