LRIGL 2010
SEASON NOTICE PAGE
The Championship
Play-Offs have arrived!
This year's Play-Offs will be somewhat different
than how they've been conducted for the past several
seasons. This week (September 2nd) is the first week
of the Championship Play-Offs which run for the next
three weeks. The top four Teams in each Conference
from the Regular Season advance to the first round.
The first two Play-Off weeks are structured to
determine a Conference Winner, and Play-Off 2nd thru
4th place within the Conference. The Play-Off Finals
during the third Play-Off week consist of matching
the two Conference Winners against one another, the
two 2nd Place Finishers from each Conference against
one another, and the two 3rd Place & the two 4th
Place Finishers against one another to determine the
League Champion, as well as 2nd thru 8th place
over-all for the Season. There were no tie-breakers
required to determine the initial Playoff Seedings.
Winning during the Play-Offs is crucial: If your Team
loses in the first round, the best your Team can
finish is 5th Place over-all. If your Team wins the
first round and loses in the second, the best your
Team can finish is 3rd over-all. If your Team loses
both the first and second rounds, the best your Team
can finish is in 7th Place over-all.
The first Week Quarter-Finals Match-Ups are as
follows:
Buckley Conference:
Top Seed Team #4 v. 4th Seed Team #1 on the the
Front Nine;
2nd Seed Team #6 v. 3rd Seed Team #5 on the Back
Nine.
Allen Conference:
Top Seed Team #11 v. 4th Seed Team #8 on the the
Front Nine;
2nd Seed Team #12 v. 3rd Seed Team #10 on the Back
Nine.
In the Round-Robin Tourney for those 5th and
6th Place finishing Teams during the Regular Season
which failed to qualify for the Championship Round,
they play against each other once for the three week
Play-Off period. The format is similar to regular
season play, but the winner is determined by the
cumulative total of Player Match points won for the
entire three week period. The balance of the over-all
finishing order is determined by the next highest
total of Match Points and so on. This will determine
the 9th through 12th place over-all for the
Season.
The first week of the Round Robin Play-Off
Match-Ups are as follows:
Team #2 v. Team #7 on the Front Nine;
Team #3 v. Team #9 on the Back Nine.
The Tie-Breaking Rules for the Play-Offs are
posted on the League Bulletin Board at the 'Ridge.
Good Luck to all the Teams.
